"Like You Like It deserves great success, too, and will wind up being produced extensively in high schools - but not for years, for a boffo Broadway run will undoubtedly come first."
--Peter Filichia, theatremania.com
"Composer Acquisto gleefully sends up the era's music, and the tunes he's devised incorporate various rock, punk, and pop styles."
--Matthew Murray, talkinbroadway.com
"Grab your Metrocards because this season's best new musical isn't on The Great White Way - it's in Brooklyn!"
--Marc Peikert, Backstage
"The musical is one of those productions where you find yourself actually laughing out loud without realizing it. The cast members, singing without microphones, belt out the numbers and put on a performance as grand as if they were in a much bigger theater, both in size and scale. I got so their drama that I lost all sense of being anywhere but in Arden Mall."
--Sarah Portlock, The Brooklyn Paper
"Maybe most people do not want to admit it, but there is certain joy to be had in watching those high school movies from the 1980's. Most people would also admit that there is a joy in watching Shakespeare's plays. So what better way to get the utmost joy and entertainment out of a piece of theater than by combining the two? An adaptation of As You Like It, Sammy Buck and Daniel S. Acquisto's new musical Like You Like It does just that and the result is a cute and entertaining evening filled with identity confusion, high school politics, and ultimately, the right couples getting together. Like You Like It is a fun filled show and is perfect for when you want something Shakespeare but with an 80's beat and a teenage vibe. Everything about the show is delightful, from the cast to the music to the source material."

"Like You Like It, an '80s light rock riff on Shakespeare, is quite likeable. Alison Luff, Hollis Scarbourgh, and Trey Compton are such charming A+ actors that, when they're in the midst of a well-executed number from choreographer Keith Andrews, and wearing Hunter Kaczorowski's slammin' clothes, all you see is a blur of comic cheer--and that's something we can all like."
--Aaron Riccio, New Theatre Corps
"The show is crammed with 20 humorous songs and well-executed dance numbers performed by the cast of 18. The show is also heavily meta, with no fourth wall. It is peppered with '80s pop references ranging from Rubix Cubes and Ralph Macchio to Tony Basile and Splash, all played to delightful effect. Notable characters include Neckbrace Girl (Elisabeth Ness), clearly lifted from Joan Cusack's character in Sixteen Candles, and the dopey Freshman (Jeff Barba), who has several hilarious solos throughout the show. The narrator Jackie West (Jennifer Blood) moves the action along through the flashback technique that has her doing an '80s revival night at the mall years after the events presented have taken place. Her timing is commendable, and her shiny headband makes one envious. Like You Like It was a delight, wildly successful by every measure..."
